Hospitalization

It is my personal feeling as a physician that all patients be they people or animals would be better off if they could be treated at home. However, there are times when a being must be hospitalized. Sometimes in the case of animals the owners just cannot give the medications to an uncooperative patient. Or if an animal is vomiting then medications cannot be given via the mouth and hence the pet would need to be hospitalized.

Intensive hospitalization should be done in a facility that has a full staff working through the night. But there are lesser forms of hospitalization that can be done by the Doctor and perhaps one staff person visiting the in patient after hours.

In our ongoing efforts to communicate with our clients, we will often call the pet owner with progress reports, even in the wee hours if the pet owner desires such a report.
