Dentistry

Some people find it hard to believe how important healthy teeth and gums are to pets. Of course they cannot tell us if their tooth hurts. But sometimes their foul breath can give us a clue as to the degree of infection in the pet’s mouth. This is often much worse than any human would tolerate in themselves or any family member.

Bad teeth in pets, can be a cause of kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease, gum infections, and many other serious maladies of your pet.

The professional care of your pet’s teeth cannot be done as easily as can be your teeth, because as mentioned before, one of the problems of veterinary medicine is that our patients do not cooperate with their physician for their care.

We can teach you many things to do at home to help care for your pets teeth, but professional care will always require general anesthetic. (see link)

It is the feeling of the veterinary dentists that professional dental care will prolong the quality as well as the quantity of your pets life.

We are always happy to answer any questions you might have about your pet’s teeth.
